Mission Statement
To nurture, inspire, and lead through innovative and unique experiences.

Welcome to another exciting year at Valley Community School. Our staff is committed to working with students and their families as a team to ensure the success of every student. We will continue our STRIVE program, which ensures each student can attend school in a safe, trusted, respectful, inspirational, visionary, and encouraging environment that is conducive to learning and achievement. We will be integrating Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) to our STRIVE program to teach students the behavioral expectations at school.

As we continue to provide educational opportunities to students across Merced County, we want to inform you of some changes this school year.

Valley Community Schools will begin the 2020-21 school year with distance learning in our daily and independent study programs. VCS Daily students will attend classes through daily live virtual sessions to interact with teachers and peers (synchronous learning). Additional coursework will be assigned for students to do independently (asynchronous learning). VCS Independent Study students will have a scheduled virtual meeting with their teacher for instruction and assignments at least once a week (synchronous learning). Coursework will be assigned for students to do independently (asynchronous learning).
